Default Carburetor Cleaner Fuel Additives

Anyone use fuel additives to keep their carbs and/or fuel system in clean condition? Is there one that is actually a step above the rest? Years ago, it was only STP & Gumout

It may be my imagination, but Lucas fuel treatment seems to make my engine idle better between oil changes.

greetings...

some will say its snake oil... but im a believer...

started using chevon techron with old motorcycles... the stuff works quite well... then tried seafoam and it works well too...

what i do is a bottle of techron in 1st tank of fresh no corn ethyl when the 70 comes out of hibernation... then a bottle of seafoam in the 3rd tank... i think the key is to run the car to a couple gallon left and fill up with no corn ethyl not let it sit in the tank...

im good after that and will sometimes run a bottle of techron in the tank before oil changes...

I needed to replace a head gasket on my '92 SBC/seeping oil at the rear of the passenger-side head (not the valve cover gasket).
After adding fuel treatment to a tank of gas and using the vehicle until the tank needed refilling, I removed the head to install a new gasket.
The top of the piston/combustion chamber/valves were spotless-no carbon buildup. I was amazed considering I usually found carbon buildup as thick as my fingernail in heads previously.
