I have a mishap yesterday with my 69. Had the front U-Joint on the drive shaft come loose and destroyed the parking brake pulley bracket. It is welded to the frame and looks almost impossible to get a welder in that small space to repair. Has anyone come across this and had a retro-fit bracket that could bolt in the old space?
Thanks
Richard
Rookie here.......I made my own bracket with a much larger pulley to get better clampng power at the E-brake shoes per the members.....
You can find a new bracket, but you will have to relocate it to the crossmember....
I temporarliy bolted it to the less-than-professional trans. removable crossmember. where I could easily install it.
I like the bracket, but I am not a welder or metal fabricator. If nothing is out there, I may have to have a removeable cross member installed and have the bracket at the same time.

I went and gathered up some pulley bracket pics. I suspect that a competent welder could fabricate a pulley bracket. HOWEVER, I agree with putting in a removable crossmember ...and if you're going to do that get one where the exhaust passed UNDER it and NOT THROUGH the crossmember.
That removable crossmember in the last picture was mine before I fabricate my own out of 3" by 3" boxed steel......
Yep.
If I was to do it again I would buy one of these and modify the ends to slide into my Manual "stubs" similar to the auto crossmember. (Instead of fabricating my own pass under crossmember)
