My 1982 CE fires and dies, no fuel from pump after initial start up. Of the three terminals at the pump I am getting 9+v from the center tan terminal and 7+v from the outside brn/wht terminal. I know about the ECM and oil pressure sensor coordination. I have checked and replaced almost everything except the relay. What is the required fuel pump voltage?
Thanks,
terntes
I don't know the wiring schematic for a 82 either. I do work with fuel injection almost daily however.
one of those wires must be for your level sender.
Fuel pumps have 2 wires. Power and ground. And 12.5 - 13.5 volts with the pump temporarily disconnected would be what I would be looking for. If you don't have a schematic, you could simply pull the pump and follow the wire to it.
My quick internet search did not yield any answers to voltage or on Youtube. So, I joined the Corvette forum where I know the answers are. My voltage was 9+ and 7+ on the two wires. The engine still just fires for the initial ECM burst then won't pump any more fuel. I'm still researching and trying, I may have to run hot wires directly to the pump to see what happens.

Thanks, I do have the two wires but I did not think about the fuel level sender, stupid me! I must have some other problem. The book says I get an initial two second shot of fuel and if the oil pressure sensor doesn't get oil pressure the fuel is cut off. I do get oil pressure just by cranking the engine plus I installed a new sensor and fuel pump. I have not checked the fuel pressure, but when disconnecting the fuel line there is get a good flow. I may just run a hot wire directly to the pump for continuous pressure.

Fuel problems update: I wired direct from a battery to the fuel pump so it will run continuously, but the engine still starts and dies after initial fuel shot from ECM and then no more fuel. I need to check the fuel pressure, but I installed a new pump and filter already, so I assume it is OK.
This is original equipment nearly 200k miles with a lot a vacuum leaks.
Problem solution: swap to carburetor.
