Default car lift

I've seen posted other places a mechanical or air lift that can raise our vettes up to 18" off the ground. Can anyone recall a resource for this type of lift?

Quickjack works well. Mine lifts over 20 inches.

Quickjacks, I have the 7000 lb model, although I’ve seen people use the 5000 lb model with great success as well.

The newer models can lift the car up a whole two feet, great for suspension work.

Are there specific jack points to be concerned using Quickjacks?

Just put them under the frame rails. As far back as you can which is about just behind the door. That puts the front along the frame rail just before it starts to go up. Very stable, no movement front or back side to side.

You do have to use the taller blocks though. With the shorter ones the center of the lift will contact the transmission crossmember before the blocks touch the frame rail.

I put a jack stand underneath the frame for extra insurance, but it has mechanical locks so you’re not just holding the car up with hydraulic pressure. Very stable.

Use the same jack points as oem.
the 5000 barely fits but agree above as far rear on rail which should put front just before frame dives in.
suggest suv adapter for max height here
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...er-and-c3.html

suggest to not double stacking blocks.
my 5000 also lifts new honda pilot which saves me rotating tires with care, not hack dealers

This should give you a pretty good idea of where to set them.

Quickjacks are great for the price. You still have to get down on your hands/knees to position them, but still way easier/better than floor jack and jack stands. I still use a jack stand on each side for peace of mind, sure as hell won't hurt anything.

It is 21" plus from the deck to the underside of the frame rails. Just got mine last fall. Quickjack 5000 .... Finally decided to get one after all those iffy instances of lifting it with jacks..... should have gotten it ages ago....

Here is an image to give you a "feel" for how much room you have under there. I was holding up my tranny pan with a piece of PVC to do some measuring (or something?).
It is wonderfully roomy.
