Not remembering faces this many years on is only human. Forgetting as much about Nam as possible is only good for our sanity.
That said. I hear you.
A long time ago. Yet feels like yesterday.
Always remember.
At least it made the front page. I came home on leave around this time and picked up a Sunday edition of the Minneapolis Star & Tribune. On the front page was a picture of a duck with a removable pop top (remember those?) from a can stuck around a duck's bill. Had to go to page 27 before I found a short clip announcing 500 +/- casualties. Made me furious and sick to my stomach. Glad I left that liberal cesspool in 1980 and moved to Florida where the military is a high priority.

Remembering faces at the age of 3 months to 8 yr. old is no problem for me.
I didn't know I had memories of NAM...they dropped into my life like mortar rounds. And yes it feels like yesterday...but when Amnesia releases a memory it is instant reality that took place 52 years ago.
Enough about my problems.
Thanks to all who served, especially those who saw combat. I came into the AF 6 years after the end of the Vietnam War, I still remember the disrespect those vets got. My fear is that the new generation isn't taught how special this country is. I see a lot of misplaced anger towards the country especially from college grads. All you have to do is spend time in some of the 3rd world rat holes to understand how good we got it.
