Looking for experience-based recommendations for complete (from manifold-back) replacement exhaust for a 69 Vert auto... it's finally time, & after looking at many of the available systems, I'd love to see what the better recommendations are. Zip, CC, Eckler''s, TopFlight, they all give me a headache searching... 'twas a no-brainer for my C6 when I got a hold of a slightly used ARH set of long tubes & X-pipe, but this I need some help with...
I went with the Pypes system with the "X" pipe for my 76 and love it. So I bought the same for my almost done 69. They are on Clemens Rd in Hatfield so you could pick it up.
Corvette central! Took me 20 mins to install on my 68 big block 4 speed and at least 5 minutes of that included chugging a beer and trying to get my phone connected to my garage speakers via Bluetooth because I like to listen to the oldies while I work on my stuff
I bought my pipes from Zip in 2002. I got the aluminized pipes so that they wouldn't rust and so far they have held up well. I don't drive it as much as I used to, but generally they rust out from the inside. I had put 2 1/2" exhaust on it years ago, but mine sits a little lower than stock and I kept scraping the pipes when they went under the rear spring. The 2" are what all 69's came with originally and they work just fine.
Corvette Central exhaust fit like a dream on my 68 after decades wtih a fabricated exhaust & headers. Do some comparison shopping. RPI sells corvette central exhaust with the same part numbers. I was buying mine in sections and some I ordered from RPI because they had SIGNIFICANTLY better shipping charges. Just be aware.
69 was the only year with the optional factory sidepipes. They are a manifold back (and to the side) system. Are you sure you don't want those? They are reproduced, with either expensive stainless covers, or paintable fiberglass.
No need, already ordered a system from CC, had 10% coupon so at least covered S&H...
What kit did your order? I might want to order a pair for my 75. It has side pipes but I'm thinking of changing them. I'm looking at part number 323189
323711-DLXA 68-69 Deluxe 2"to 2 1/2 Exhaust System… went with deluxe option which includes everything including the chrome exhaust tips. For a 75 it’d be a different kit, not sure what year went to the single Y-pipe. I went with the 2 1/2 inch system over the original 2 inch pipes, eventually will rebuild the motor & will update with the 350HP cam.

I have the same system on mine minus the headers. 2 1/2" pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.
