I am the proud new owner of an 82 Vette. Need a good set of tires and a good service shop in San Diego. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out performance plus tires in Long Beach..... V-rated 15s. Not too far and I think you can order tires too.....

Those tires are made in China and rated for 150mph. However, at only $145 each which IS extremely cheap, I wouldn't trust those tires, but that's just me.

I've been running those inexpensive galaxies on the road and track for about a year now. After 30 years of running Cooper's.
I'll just say that I would rarely disagree with Buccaneer, but this time I will.
These tires Stick Way better than the Mexican made Cooper's. Much, much better in the rain And they cost less!
And the BF Goodrich tires are the absolute worst.
My 2 cents worth.

If you want to go fast in a C3, get 18" wheels and tires to match.

If you just want to drive, you can buy tires at Costco, or TireRack.com, though they only seem to have Cooper Cobras and BFG Radial T/As.

No harm, no foul and it's OK to disagree, I appreciate the comment actually. I just thought I would put that out there since most people really don't research things like they should. I ran the original style tires when the 82 was new from Kellsey tire which where the Eagle GT tires. They were pretty good tires, but the cost $540 a tire IS WAY out of control on those tires and now I run MT ET street Rs out back and the regular MT street tires in front. I like the way they ride for sure.
