I have a 79 L-48 with an 80"s crate engine in it. My question is how hard would it be to swap sides with the alternator? I eventually want to put an air conditioner back into it.
Will OEM brackets for the L-48 fit on this crate engine? Or am I forced to put in a serpentine. Any advice is appreciated.

If the accessory holes are drilled and tapped in the front of the heads. Which I can't see in your photo. But they should be. Shouldn't be any issues putting the stock brackets back on. With the correct corvette waterpump everything should line up.
