Default Front Bumper Brace Bracket Question

I have two of the braces, reinforcement bracket, not sure of what they are called. One should be for

a 1968 and one may have come off a 1976. I am not sure which is which. I need to keep one and sell one. Can anyone tell me which one would be for the 68? I can post more detail pics if needed. Thanks

68-72 are the same
yours are both from those years no difference other years dont use those at all
Best you can do is chemically strip them and look for a part number if you need a specific date for restoration

The one on the right has a small bracket welded in. IIRC, that’s for 68-69.

Thanks, I was pretty sure that one was for the 68 but wanted to make sure. I wonder what that little bracket is for.

I am not sure when they started installing the radiator support to nose rods on the cars, but that is why that small bracket was not needed anymore. I think the rod came out in late 68's due to the extensive fiberglass cracking from the flex in the nose without that rod and the then added twist brackets and inner fender triangle brackets. I speak from experience on that! Lou.

I know exactly what you mean Lou. Mine had a dropped nose and needed major repair for that. They thickened up that nose piece and added the supports when they did the repair.

Mine developed numerous cracks in the hood surround in the "round corners" just above the headlights. This is all from the heavy headlights hanging from the fiberglass. Lou.
