I bought myself a 1978 silver anniversary edition as a gift to myself for completing flight school.. my first Corvette.. but it needs some TLC and google isn't helping me so I'm here to ask the pros...
First thing- the right mirror was missing.. I'd like to just replace the mirror and not the entire unit but it looks like I'm missing some internals.. does anyone know what parts I'd need besides the mirror.. or what's on the inside of the sport mirror (not the remote moving one)..essentially so I can glue the mirror to whatever was on the inside of the mirror housing..
The second thing is, does anyone know the two specific colors I need to buy for touch up paint... I have some scratches I wanna fix but I don't want to buy just "silver", even if it's listed for my version...
I think you may need a whole right side mirror. It may just be an optical illusion created by the camera angle, but your mirror housing looks to be bent out of shape?
As far as paint codes, the chart in the following link will give you codes for Ditzler, RM, etc paints. The Anniversary silver is listed as GM code WA4962 and the lower accent dark gray is WA4784 (note the "pace silver" in the chart is the brighter silver used as the lower accent color on 78 Pace Car editions and is different than the silver used on 78 Silver Anniversary cars).
