I need to change gear oil in my transmission and differential.I already have a drain plug in the differential. I need a gear oil pump to fill them both with gear oil. Anyway help or recommendations would be appreciated.
I use a plastic hand pump made for filling marine inboard units. The pump screws into a standard quart bottle. They cost about $6. I use it on my NSX transaxle which is buried under the engine. Works like a charm. Jerry
This is the suction gun I bought 7 years ago, to do those exact jobs. At that time, it was probably the same price as the one @Mark G posted. To fill with fresh oil, I got a pump that fit on the Red Line bottle, like the second link.
A pro tip was passed to me that I am passing on to you. If you have a transmission that has both a drain and a fill plug, make sure you open the fill port first. If you open the drain port, but the fill is stuck, you've just disabled your vehicle.
There are many shampoo / body wash / hand soap / sanitizer bottles that use a push down, finger operated pump. I have used these for this purpose with great success. My wife always has one she can spare. If you can't find one, get a cheap Harbor Freight oil can.
Laz,
To fill the transmission, get a 4 ft length of clear rubber hose from the hardware store and attach it to a funnel. Put the hose end in the transmission and fill it from the top of the engine compartment. Keep a drain pan under the tranny in case it overflows a bit.

the hard part is getting the oil out of the tranny.....Im guessing its a muncie 4 speed? gear oil is thick so you are going to have a long slow time of it but you need a hose that you can snake in through the fill hole and get down to the bottom of the trans to try and suction it out....once its in and your suction gun is full, leave the hose in and disconnect the suction gun to drain it.
When that fails you may want to consider disconnecting the linkage if you have a muncie shifter, disconnecting the transmission mount, jacking up engine, support the transmission, then removing the bolts holding the transmission onto the bellhousing and rotating it onto its side to drain the oil out of the fill hole....its labor intensive but easier in the end.
I've used one of these pumps for years. I have two 4WD Jeeps, which is 8 gear boxes that need filling. This works great, stick it in a gallon jug of gear lube and start pumping. No mess.
