Strange how C3's were never my favorite corvette generation but now I have two! Long story short, I bought the 82 collector edition from friends of mine 5 years who have since passed away. Just by chance I was checking the forum's classified section to see what 82 collector editions were going for (I was thinking about selling it). Lo and behold I found my friends' other C3 for sale! When I found their 1980 for sale I knew I just had to get it!
I may still end up selling the collector's edition someday but for now my friends' cars are back together again. I think I like the looks of the 80 more but I have to learn about this "carburetor" thing. I haven't driven a car with one of those since I was in high school! Kind of seeing now why people were so freaked out by this "crossfire" thing back then after seeing the differences up close.
Ya, I get ya. But I drove a carburetor car always since before getting out of high school, untill I decided to upgrade my high school graduation car to EFI about 4 or 5 years ago.
The 80 can be upgraded to EFI.
But then, maybe it's not the way you want it.
Best of luck. They are both beautiful cars!

I will be keeping the carb. It will something new for me to learn.
