With these new vehicles being energy hogs what size portable jump starter is needed? We see all sizes the most popular 800 amp,600 amp etc. Is it based on cranking amps?
I too have the NOCO but, I spent a bit more because I can use it for cars, trucks (Diesel) and equipment if needed. It has 3000 cranking amps and if the battery in a car is totally dead, let it sit for a couple of minutes to charge the battery, it will start. But it is overkill for a Corvette.

Thanks So the bigger in amps the more cars it will start!
Yea, pretty much. What's the stockl cca's of your battery? 650a+??
Larger capacity is always good (may crank longer), but you have to balance it with the higher cost.

I bought this one last year - I haven't had to use it, but I've seen one start a C5 three times in a row and still show 98% charge - good enough for my old '78!
