Hi, I would like to know if I can replace a #4055 carb for a #3888 carb which I have? The 3888 is in better shape than the 4055 carb. 1969 corvette 427/435 4 speed. I know the 3888 is for a power guide. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Do you have pics? All the parts of the center carbs are interchangeable with othe 2 barrels of the same cfm. The base plate throttle body has unique throttle arm which can be removed and swapped to another base. The bodies of the tripower carbs are the same amount the same cfm.
The 3888 is for a 67, the 4055 is for a 69. The bowls venting may be different. The only other difference is the jets. You can take the metering blocks and swap them if you want to. My current center carb main body is a new one for the small block set up. I wanted the electric choke. I swapped bases and bowls. I also run a modified metering block as well.
I wouldn't think anything matters between transmissions other than brackets for the kick down
The same goes for the outboard carbs. I have Ford bowls and bases with power valve linkage on them. Everything is modular on the same cfm bodies.
