Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the plastic bushing from the driver's side sun visor on my 81? I got the small metal clip off but cannot remove the shaft out of the plastic bushing. TIA

The nylon bushing was originally molded onto the shaft, so with the clip off the chrome elbow the shaft and bushing should both come out of the elbow together. There's a notch in the shaft that the bushing was molded around to keep the shaft from coming out of the bushing. The shaft itself can't come out of the bushing unless the bushing is broken. The repair bushing sold by Corvette vendors is made in two pieces, so that it can be put back on the shaft and fit around the notch. If it was made in one piece like the original it wouldn't go back on the shaft.
If the shaft and bushing aren't coming out of the elbow as one, then you may have to break the bushing and replace it with the two piece repair bushing to reassemble the visor.
