Odo reset.
Put the **** on the other end of the cable where it mounts under the dash,
PUSH in on the **** which causes the cable inner core to engage the trip odometer.
Rotate the **** while it is pushed in to change the Trio odometer back to Zero miles.

Inside the trip odometer, it's like this when you're not touching the reset. The shaft is slid to the right side by the spring inside and the worm gear there is from the speedometer cable and drives the odometer (removed in this picture) and trip meter down at the bottom
Here's the trip odometer and the gear at the end so looking up from the bottom, way in the background you can just see the regular odometer
On the bottom shown here, the pointed end bit on top of a gear with the spring under it is what the reset cable is attached to
When you push the cable in it moves that point against the taper on the side of the trip odometer shaft and forces it to the left, this disengages the gear to speedometer gears so it's not connected anymore and meshes the gear that gear to the gear connected to the reset cable instead (barely)
Then when you turn the **** (while holding it pressed in) it turns that end number and when it lines the 0 with the 0 on the next ring it picks that one up and they rotate until the catch the next number ring etc etc etc until you get them all to zero and stop turning.
Usually what happens is they get bunged up and don't slide all the way back to the right to engage the regular speedometer gears again so they just sit. Sometimes it's the cable sticking and if you pull it down instead of pushing it lets the shaft slide back to the right.. sometimes

I was looking at the squared of end of the cable and thinking... well, this needs to be twisted... and... that can't be, that's nuts !
Thanks for clearing this up for me
Now to see if mine still works.
