In a different post it stated 76 was the last year of the Stingray…. I checked the internet and it appears they’re correct…. Question is the below picture is a registered 77…. Can anyone shed a light on this…. Where there any Stingrays in 77?

And no, there were no Stingrays after 1976.
1963-1967 was Corvette Sting Ray (two words).
1968 was just a Corvette.
1969-1976 was a Corvette Stingray (one word).
The Chevrolet ads for the new 1968 Corvette called it a Sting Ray. There were no emblems on the car. However in 1969 when the new Corvettes came out with the Stingray emblem on each front fender many went out to the local Chevy dealer and bought a pair for their 68's. Someone before me put them on mine as well as the inserts in the louvers.

I have the brochure for 68 that says it's a stingray. Got a warning about this about 8 years ago....all corvettes are stingrays because it does not denote a difference in anything, it's not a performance package, it's all one model, the corvette stingray. Of course I had one guy saying he had a 68 Mako...the only model designations are the numbers to denote an optional upgrade...L79, L88, L89, L48, LT1, L82, LS5, etc....some where just hp others were a package
True, Stingray doesn't actually mean anything. It's not as though some where Stingrays and some where not.
it's just a badge that looks cool and helped sell cars. Nothing more.
always someting with vettes in general.
From c2s are stingrays and c3s are makos to this, 77 quit the stingray name.
people call my 81 a stingray and I guess thats what it is

Chevy 1500 series pickups are the Silverado model, badging or not, and a Silverado can be a “Z71” with or without the cool little decals on the side as long as it has the Z71 suspension package.
Not unique to the Corvette.
But the Stingray badge is a nice little piece of jewelry, and I think every C3 owner should stick ‘em on.

I was going to but it clashed with the hotwheels logo
