I tend to go by the Summit customer reviews rather than forum chatter. One to four stars, let it go. Four and half stars and she good to go. I carry a complete HEI distributor in my car just in case.

Reason: Clarification
I just ordered a DUI HEI, so I can't vouch for long-term durability because I don't have it yet. However, they do have an excellent reputation and you can order the distributor with or without other components such as the module, coil, cap and rotor. I ordered mine without those things because I'm running an MSD and I have a fairly new coil, ,cap and rotor.
FWIW- I had heard great things about DUI distributors. i may be one of the unlucky ones but i got a bad one
had a store brand (jegs not summit) dizzy in a TBI setup break after only a few years. decided to buy a DUI and it was bad out of the box. was misfiring so bad it was melting the cap.
We just installed a new distributor from Progression Ignition in my son's 73 Camaro. No moving parts inside, you adjust all advance settings from your phone. If I didn't already have the MSD in my Corvette I would be installing their tach drive distributor.

second the Progression distributor. Fantastic product
The DUI Distributor has been in my car for 14 years. The only thing other than a cap and rotor replacement was to lube the tach drive coupling. It's been trouble free.
