So i was having issues with my fuel gauge. Would not read correct. Found out it was the sending unit. Replaced it and fixed the fuel gauge problem for about 2 weeks and then another problem with fuel gauge. It would read only a quarter full no matter how much gas i would put in. Did the normal testing, unhooked the pink wire, gauge went to full. Grounded the pink wire and gauge read empty. Fuel gauge seems to be working. Took apart cluster and the resistor seems to be in good shape. Put back together and now gauge reads past full. Checked wires for continuity from connector at the gas tank all the way to the connector at the cluster. All are good. So only thing it could be was the sendiing unit again. Took out sending unit and sure enough it aint working. Its a brand new part. Now im a** out of over a hundred bucks cause i got it off of amazon and its past the warranty. This wasnt a cheap knock off brand either. My question is where can i get a good sending unit that wont crap out on me and is under warranty? None of the automotive stores carry these. Thanks for any help.

Reason: error in title
Well, I don't know about warranties on Automotive electrical parts. But have you looked at the major Corvette parts vendors? Places like Zip Corvette, Bairs Corvettes, Top Flight Automotive, etc, etc.
And while you have that sending unit out, have you given any thought to actually repairing it as opposed to just replacing it again? It's just a simple rheostat switch with a float after all.
Opened it up. How would you repair the switch? If has 2 or 3 winding wires burned. It would be nearly impossible to reconnect winding wires. Even if i did wouldnt it affect the ohms reading and fuel gauge?
Generally with a rheostat it's the contacts on the bars that corrod and play up.
Windings burnt through? That is a bit of a worry. And unusual. Very poor quality or is something else causing this?
Poor quality i would say. Funny thing is the brand wasnt a cheap one. Anyways im trying to find somewhere to buy one that if i have problems and it turns out to be defective i can send it back without having to jump through hoops. Probably get it from Summit Racing, they always have great customer service in my opinion. Anybody on here use a sendiing unit from Summit Racing?
My sender (from Willcox 6 yrs. ago) also failed. It had a broken wire lead that wasn't properly soldered in China, though admittedly it's not easy to be perfectly delicate while semi-twisting it in. It sounds like you also checked the connector/ground. Wish I had more based on my similar experience.
