Default Rag top P-seal marring

Greeting. Sorry in advance if this has been answered. I looked, and as is normal for me, ended up just asking. My 69 convertible is nearly flawless in the paint department. The seal at the base (rear) where the top line rests on the deck lid is showing the slightest of transfer marks. This car is a fairly new restoration and there is not probably 3,000 miles of wear /use. It is not a mar yet, but its enough that a micro polish wont cut it out of the clear (I have not wailed on it, but its def a haze on the clear) Is there some trick urethane clear strip, or perhaps its an adjustment thing? I have run the adjuster pins to where the seal is maybe 50% compressed when the top is in-play. Any and all advice, suggestion, speculation, and guidance are appreciated in advance.

I don't have a convertible, but I have seen a deck lid protector film that some of the vendors sell.
Corvette Central has one with part number 543085 and it is about $33.

The protector film shown above is/was the standard for the last 20 yrs. and works fine. The problem is that you have to remove it when you put the top down or it will blow away. A newer/better solution is to use a clear ppf that won't show much and won't come off while driving.
You can get some on Amazon and do it yourself of have it done for $200+.
