Default Rear Diffuser - Free 3d Downloadable file

So I have had interest from others in releasing the 3D Printable File of the Rear Diffuser I created. This was made with the idea of having sidepipe exhaust. It would have to be edited to work with rear exhaust.

I know this isn't for everyone, as tastes are always different for each person. After many hours working on this diffuser and interest from others to use it, I decided to release it for anyone wanting to make it.

It can be downloaded here: https://www.printables.com/model/103...-rear-diffuser

To make this work you will have to create a L-Shaped bracket to connect to the rear crossmember. You will have to scale the file to fit your car with your 3D program. As it had to be adjusted every time I printed it. You will also have to make supports in the fiberglass bottoms of the body.
You can see my crazy progress on my youtube channel to get a better idea if you use it. Under the Diffuser Videos.

The way I combined the 3d Printed plastic pieces is with a soldering iron, holding the two pieces together and melting the plastic together. I call it plastic welding. lol.

Here is what it looks like plastic wielded together.

Here is what it looked like on the car while designing it in fiberglass. Easier to see with the color contrast.

Here is what it looks like on the car with it printed. Harder to see as it closer to the body color. Blends in well if the color is the same.

Now I just have to finish putting two layers of fiberglass over the printed file for more stiffness and it will be ready. I have found out even though the 3D printed file is straight. My body panels are off just a hair here and there, as it was hand laid I'm sure. So body work to printed file will need to done to finish with my car. But the file may need adjusted to fit your car if you choose to use it.

Good luck if you use it. And if you make changes to the file post it here so we can see what you created.

Excuse my ignorance, is this just for aesthetics, does it serve a function? Is the idea to reduce drag, preventing air flowing up into the spare tire and tank area.

A little of both. I made it to stop air from going up into the back, as it a parachute back there. Every bit helps. But to be fully functional the whole under body would have to be flat.
