Yay! Another Pulley Alignment Question!
2 issues:
1) The add-on pulleys I’ve received have been too shallow and don’t reach the face of the crank pulley. Someone said I may need a specific 3rd pulley.
2) The PS pump pulley looks like it’s lining up right between the 2nd and 3rd pulley position. Is there a specific pulley or pump that is needed? Borgeson includes a double PS pulley in the kit, but neither groove is lining up with the Crank or WP pulleys.
I ordered a triple crank pulley (GM small block) and the grooves appear to be closer together than my current 2-groove crank and WP pulleys.
Basically, nothing is living up and, although the folks at Borgeson have been helpful, I still haven’t gotten the info needed to solve this puzzle.
I assume some of you have been down this road and I’d love some specific info.
If you don’t know, no need to comment. I’m also not going to “go with a serpentine system” (at least not now), but I appreciate the thought behind that advice.
Thanks C3 Buddies!
PS pump and crank pulley.
New 3-pulley crank with OEM water pump pulley.
I've done a bunch of pulley research and have a bit of info.
Give me the puller numbers for the following: "current 2-groove crank and WP pulleys." and I'll see what I can find..... I suspect I can line you if you give me those pulley numbers....
Once I have those I can give you all the info I have but no use sending useless crap.....
and YES you do need specific 3rd forwardmost pulleys.

Current double crank pulley. WP pulley has the same fitment.
Thanks for the help. I’ll try to get the WP info soon.
Ok. Here you go. Should be the info you need. That is the same crank pulley I have. You can see what other pulleys will help you line everything up.
If your 71 came was available with a/c AND ps then you can just look in the AIM for that matter.
My 68 327/350 was not available with both....so I ended up modifying my a/c bracket to shift the compressor and used the former smog pump drive for a different purpose.
I'll go find a link that shows my pulleys just so can have some ideas.
Here is a picture. You can see the pulleys and how I ended up aligning them to run my stuff.
The Forwardmost pulley drives the Sanden A/C compressor.
I can look for a picture of that if you need to see it.
BUT REALLY - as expensive as these pulleys have gotten if I was starting now I would go Serpentine.
You can find good pulleys on ebay for a lot better price than you will get from the Vendors.... the vendors just keep jacking prices ridiculously because they can. Seriously - look on ebay.
And here is more pulley info and a/c info and I think one of the fellows even had a 71: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...do-i-need.html

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
For MINE which
The Forward most (3rd) drives the a/c compressor.
The 2nd WP pulley drives the PS belts.
The aftermost wp pulley drives the alternator belt.
... BUT---- mine is a 68 that did not have the option for both a/c and ps with the 350HP. Pretty sure most of the 71s could be had with both a/c and ps.
You just need to get the proper forwardmost pulleys that will mate with your existing waterpump and crank pulleys and start there.
You should look at the 71 AIM.
What is the pulley number for your waterpump?
What is the pulley number you have for your power steering pump?
How/where does your a/c compressor line up?
Take some pictures and share them....
