Default Need finding engine serial number and locating battery

This probably sounds crazy, but I need help finding the battery in a 1969 corvette with a 427 motor. Have a nice looking one that is to be part of an estate sale and we need to try to jump the battery and get it going. However both of us looked and can't see a battery anywhere. Am i crazy or is it in some weird spot?

Also any tips of finding the 427 serial number? Online all i see is info that shows wear the smaller engine has it, but when i look on this i don't see the "lip" where the serial is suppose to be.
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks.

Battery behind the driver's seat

For a '71 454, but according to '69 AIM, it's in same place on a 427

Both the 350 and 427 engines have identification information in the same locations. On the passenger side front of the block are two series of numbers and letters stamped on the “pad”. The larger font set should begin with a “T” followed by 4 numbers followed by 2 letters. Example: T0112LR. The smaller font will begin with 19S7 followed by 5 numbers (which if the same as the VIN of the car, indicates the original engine (if not a Restamp)).

On the left rear of the block, on what is called the “shelf”, the block casting number is found. In your case, could be 3963512. On the right side “shelf” is the block casting date. Example: H109.

The battery is in a secret compartment that only certain club members know about.
