How’s everyone doing. Picked this base 78 up a couple of weeks ago and already tore the interior apart and redid the wiring harness. When I got it the wiper fuse wasn’t blown. I put the dash back together yesterday and plugged everything back in and the wipers turned on ran for a little then stopped. This seemed to happen when I tapped into the gray wire in the radio harness for power for my aftermarket radio (could’ve been a coincidence). Looking for help on trouble shooting this. I have the standard wipers without the intermittent controller in the console.
Thank you. I do have the electrical troubleshooting manual but not an assembly manual. I’m going to check the plug at the wiper motor for power tonight
On your 78 radio wiring power plug there should be 3 wires a Yellow, Black & Grey
The Grey wire is powered ONLY when the headlight switch is in 1st or 2nd position(s)
This circuit is protected by the short INST/LPS 6amp fuse...

That is correct. I’m thinking when I pulled the speaker wire across the dash it might’ve made something behind the wiper switch connect.
