I am working on a 72 base model. I have two rear quarter panels, but they look different. The one on the left is supposed to be a NOS. The one on the right is from a 71 or 72 donor car. The section behind the wheel-well has a different shape and is noticeable from the side profile view. When I look at vendor sites on the web, I see 70-73 rear quarter panels for sale with both designs. Which one is correct? Why am I seeing this same difference in new aftermarket panels? Does the variance in styles have any affect on NCRS judging? Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I had to walk out to the shop to satisfy my curiosity. The panels on my '72 base car look much closer to the donor car's panel and at first glance, I would have said the bottom was straight. Then I put a length of lumber against the rear most area of that panel to show the taper closer to the wheel well opening. The formed area under the bumper on mine and around the light cutout also looks more formed like the donor car's.
