Contemplating The '81's Future
Sitting in the clubroom today thinking "should I sell it or not?". I may have put 200 miles on it this year, it sits a lot, and takes up room I'd like to re-claim back. Right now, after a little thought, I'm leaning not. I'll list it on CF if I do.
Nice looking car. If you don't have time to play with it perhaps you should sell it. It's not good for any vehicle to just sit.
And such a nice looking car, someone out there would love to play with it.
If I owned a car that I only put 200mi on in an entire year, it be gone in a flash.
I'll put 200mi on a classic in a few days. Doesnt even have to be a classic. I think I put close to 5k miles on my Humvee just over the summer alone. They're meant to be driven and enjoyed.
It's a tough call. My LS3/4L60E swapped 80 Camaro goes down the road great. Maybe got 500 miles on it last summer. But it doesn't hold a candle to our 20 Mustang 5.0 GT vert. The Camaro is our short distance car show car. The Mustang is our long distance hot rod. Our joker in the mix is our 98 Wrangler with a LS6/4L60E swap. IMO its the perfect summer time mall crawler. Never will see any mud.
Maybe give the 81 one more summer? Or if you are going to sell list it in late Jan or Feb. Spring is coming. It's time to sell a hot rod.
