Default '82 Crossfire Intake?

Hello, I have owned an '82 Corvette for 30 years. It is a driver, mostly original, around 100,000 miles. Recently I found out that the engine needed some re freshening, mainly because the harmonic balancer dried up and was rubbing the timing cover, but engine needed rebuild anyways. In the investigation of rebuild, found out it did not have numbers matching transmission, which I was told when bought it was all original. Digging around, I found another owner that had a fresh rebuilt engine, moderate modifications, and rebuilt transmission, but decided to LS upgrade, so I bought the whole package for $1500, kind of a no brainer. Been running it for several years since swap, no issues.

My question is, currently is has the original Crossfire Injection and intake, with the minor modifications to make it more adjustable. Runs great, no issues at all. But, over the years I have procured an NOS OEM Crossfire Intake, still in factory plastic wrap, and also an NOS Renegade Intake.

For those that have installed the Renegade Intake, should I upgrade to that installation? Not being numbers matching anymore, and being a driver not show car? I have read over the years that the HP and torque increase just by bolting on the Renegade Intake, make it well worth the effort. Not sure what negatives there would be? Thoughts? Opinions?

Not sure what either of those intakes are worth today, if I chose to sell either of them.

Thanks

As far as the OEM intakes, I have two for sale in the Parts section right now. They can be found pretty easily, I believe. I am practically giving them away for the shop space.

Does your Renegade have a serial number? I believe there are some of those manifolds from a certain manufacturer that are quite desirable and valuable. However, there are also some that were made by some dubious manufacturers with quality control issues.

I read through old posts about the Renegade Intake, and just found out about the serial number. I will have to pull mine out of storage and check for the #. I do know when I received mine years ago, I did notice it did not have the threaded holes drilled-tapped for the thermostat, if that is any indication? I purchased it around 2018 if that has any indication also.

Thanks

Just my .02, if your present crossfire set up is running well then I would leave it alone and enjoy life. If you still want to have tinkeritis then first read through the threads on here about what some folks have gone through to get a good running stock crossfire these days.

To the OP, it's your car so do your thing but this is great advice. I'm 60, and have had my 82 with numbers matching drivetrain (like that's a big deal on an '82, LOL) since 1996. If (when) something happens to 2TONE82, I'll go the quickest route that gets us back on the road as soon as possible.

Toddrun -- if your current swap package runs well and you're satisfied - keep it that way.

Now if you want more, the intake along with a higher PSI fuel pump (for constant 14 psi), front hood flapper removal, and ECU chip, and bigger injectors, and ........................................

If it works, run it!

If you want more, you should be able to sell that Renegade intake easily, here or on eBay. @Buccaneer can tell you if is one of the "good" ones, or not.

Take the proceeds, and do what that other 82 owner did, and LS swap your car!

It's exceedingly evident to me...that I will have an extraordinarily rare car...here in a short few years.

My 82 is absolutely, flawlessly stock . I was on this path to "quicker, faster" until I realized the rush for the door...had really picked up steam.

26K miles ... oh boy, maybe I should park this and get a fixer.

Default Renegade intake

I know this is an older thread but was wondering if there are any Renegade manifolds still out there. If you have one laying around, let me know. I have an 82 CE.
