Really appreciate the tips and links. After taking a peak I have determined that the current unit is aftermarket. Now trying to decide if I want to spend the $200 to put in an OEM style. Or if any of you you have good luck with a cheaper Universal like what is in it now? I leaning towards replacing with an OEM type. Thoughts?
I only have one non-functional AM/FM/8 Track antenna for parts. It worked until I took it apart to replace the drive cable. Usually, i can reassemble and have no problems but this one gave me trouble. I already had a good spare.
Hello- Accidentally broke the power antenna mass on my 1981. How hard and what tools might be needed to get it out of the back of the car?
I replaced mine on my 81 a few years ago with the model in the link below. It has a built in relay, so you can disconnect and bypass the antenna relay behind the passenger seat in the rear compartment. The model I purchased has a black mast, which I think looks better than the stainless steel color and matches the black trim around the back window. With the online discount code it comes out to only $58.39.
