Default What are these?

When I bought my 73 many parts came in totes. I’ve never done a Vette before so there are parts I’m not familiar with. Can anyone tell me what they are?

Cable runs from the steering column to the gearbox selector. You can't pull the key out unless it's in a certain gear. A lot of people just wire up the lever on the column and not worry about it nowadays.

those covers are for the inertia reels seat belts under the carpets

Thanks Baza.
I would have never guessed the cable was for that. Appreciate it.

It was part of the theft deterrent system, ie. Knocking steering wheel. If your car has a manual transmission, don’t worry … most juvenile delinquents can drive a stick shift car.

It’s a comfort to know that the guys old enough to steal these 4 speed cars are too old to want to steal them.

Those seat belt covers are non existent for our 73’s
Yours look to be in really nice shape.
Treat them kindly, don’t over torque the bolts when you install them.
Mine had several cracks from abuse so I mixed up some two part epoxy and fixed them.
I did some light sanding with 400 grit, primed and painted them with some rust oleum paint for plastic.
