Hi everyone, I’ve been wrestling with a fused on fuel filter for my 76 L48. In doing so, I noticed that I must’ve snapped off what I believe is the EGR TVS switch. From what I’ve read, this relates to bygone emissions equipment. Does it need to be replaced, or can I do without it?
A block off plate for the EGR a pipe plug where this switch is and a rubber cap on the carburetor vacuum source and drive on. We were deleting those EGR's back when the cars were new.

This or if everything is still hooked up replace it for about $30 bucks...
I'm not sure what you mean by "bygone emission equipment" when I see the TVS connected to both carb and, apparently, the EGR valve. The EGR valve, managed by the thermo vacuum switch (TVS), uses engine-coolant temperature to activate manifold vacuum and open the valve. Subsequently, inert gases are routed into the intake passages to reduce nitrous oxide emissions.
TVS switches are quite available and used widely to reduce NO2.
