Default OEM floor mats

Can somebody out there tell me if the 1977 Corvette came with floor mats originally And if so, what kind of material were they?
and does anybody have a picture of them? I’m looking for the OEM

Mine didn't. Perhaps it was a option back then?
find OEM'S for a 48 year old car? Sounds interesting.

These are reasonably good reproductions of the dealer installed floor mats available for 1968 to 1972 Corvettes (probably later models as well).

They were never available as a factory option, but were popular as a dealer available option.

As Stan said the black rubber mats were a dealer installed option for 68-76 Corvettes. For 77, floor mats became a factory installed option, described in the 77 sales brochure as "Floor mats with multi-color carpet inserts". These mats were color keyed to the interior with a contrasting checkered pattern to them, similar to the LLoyds Mats that were popular in the 70's and 80's. Starting in 78 color keyed mats using the same carpet as was installed on the floors became standard in all Corvettes. Clear vinyl mats in the same shape as the black rubber mats may have been available in 68 and 69. I've never seen a pair but I seem to recall seeing them listed in period Chevrolet marketing materials.

The 77 floormats were optional. They were also recalled sometime in 1978 because some delamated causing a safety issue.
My carpeted floormats were replaced just 2 months after the car was purchased with these...Maybe it was Seattle weather thing?

No, if optioned they were the colored key carpeted mats.
When they were recalled you received the rubber mat's with the part number of the invoice I posted above.

I believe the carpet color of the right mat to be correct for both 1977 Buckskin & Brown interiors.
