78 anniv- console lights not working
Looking for any advise as I start diagnosis.
just bought the vette last fall and never drove at night until just recently. Console lights worked until half way thru drive and will not go back on.
checked fuse and fuse terminal. Everything looked good. Having traced down ground wire yet.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
appreciate any ideas

At first you always check the fuses and then check the bulbs. Especially if they were working beforehand. If it all looks good then get yourself a test light and a schematic for your specific year and start tracing. If your dash gauges are lighting up but the center console light is not lighting up then that is where you start looking. If your gauge lights are not working either then most likely it's the headlight switch.

That light has a funny set up for grounding the bulb located at the top of the center bezel. If I recall there is a screw that touches the side of the bulb and that grounds it. And that bulb is special, for that application only. It isn't the regular dash light bulb.
