79 door glass
Morning Corvette brothers.
Quick question about C3 Blowout clip. Seems there are quite a few that ask about replacing these clips because they are rusted and/or the coating has come off. I’m in the same boat with a 79 I'm working on. My question is why is it hitting the clip in the first place?
Do they normally sit against the glass? I can’t see how that clip could move so I wouldn’t think it’s the clip.
Is the glass out of alignment in some way? In my case my glass is definitely in need of anti rattle bumpers (https://www.zip-corvette.com/69-96-d...bumpers-4.html) other than that the glass seems to be adjusted properly.
My symptoms are:

My symptoms are:
- Left side - When I close the door with door glass up, the glass closes on the outside of the blowout clip. At first I though my glass my be adjusted to high, but I were to lower it then it would not be high enough for the weather strip.
- Both sides - as the car flexes while driving I get screeching from the metal rubbing on the glass.
