Default strut rod bracket

looked at a mid year tonight and the strut rod bracket had a L bracket welded towards the back passenger side and on the driver's side front was a treaded hole. obviously not correct for a mid year where any C3 brackets configured that way?

Had one on my 73. Not sure what it was for since the original exhaust was long gone.

Yup, the little bracket and the threaded hole are both for the heat shield. Not clear on all the years that had the heat shield. But my 77 is certainly exactly like that.

I found this online. Perhaps it will help clear it up a bit.

My 76 has a exhaust heat shield that I attached a custom rear cover to it(not the one in the photo) Seems I don't have picture handy but it is polish aluminum with chrome C3 letter/number.
Playing with an idea
