Body was removed , I already torqued the mounts on the sides. I believe I have things a little wonky. How do I square this up to add the shims? Thanks Ty
1) Was the body sitting on a pallet for a long time with the front/rear drooping down (unsupported)? Or was there a jig supporting all parts of the body?
2) Are the body mounts new, or existing? If existing, how do they appear (same thickness)?
3) Any reason to suspect frame damage? (is the frame sitting level?) (was frame rust-repaired?)
4) How do the door and hood panel gaps look?
5) Have you tried 'lifting' the back end up a bit?
Otherwise, yes you could try shimming the center mounts. Or make your own shims. But if it was good before ...what changed??
I remember when I did mine I left all 8 of the body mount bolts loose, after I had the side body mounts shimmed where I wanted them I put a floor jack with a chunk of 4×4 on it to jack the rear bumper mounts into alignment, then started those bolts, just so they were started. Then went and tightened the 8 body mounts starting with 1 and 2, then 3 , then 4. Then those rear bumper mounts. And the front brackets were easy. No issues at all up front. But that rear mount set-up was a excericise.
