OEM Coating for 1976 Corvette Frame

Default OEM Coating for 1976 Corvette Frame
What coating/paint did GM apply to the frame on their 1976 Corvette?

From what I can determine after closely inspecting my frame it appears have a cosmoiline coating, does this sound right?

Cheap solventborne paint in a dip tank.

someone may have sprayed with something?

The suspension components are painted with what appears to be a semi-gloss paint, but the frame appears to be bare steel with a cosmolline--like coating to it.
It's a 1976 with some 7,000 miles, so I suspect whatever coating is on the frame was applied at the factory.
