I was thinking of changing my rear leaf spring bushing seeing as they are original and pretty much flat. My question is if I change the bushings will that change the ride height and if yes by how much?
Pat
I replaced my rubber rear spring bushings, the one's at the ends of the spring. With replacement rubber bushings from one of the major Corvette suppliers.
Probably about 13 years ago. The replacement rubber bushings will squash down a fair bit, so truthfully, I don't think you can put them next to your old ones and get a accurate guestimate of ride height difference.
However, the main reason I popped on this thread is to say this about that.
Those replacement rubber bushings I purchased from a major Corvette supplier?? Well, after only 5 years they were perished. Far worse than the originals I replaced.
So, be careful.
So, then I purchased some Nolethane bushings from Summit. They didn't compress one bit. Not at all! They jacked up my rear end like a 4 wheel drive!
So, I pulled them back out machined them down on the lathe to mimic the thickness of the compressed rubber.
There holding up great!

You can also go to a "Rubber Supplier". They will punch out woven rubber discs the size you need with a bolt hole in the center of the disk. I also used those discs instead of the aluminum pucks body spacers originally used on older Vettes.
