Default C3 water diverter

69 Convertible has a diverter on the drivers side and not on the passenger.Original paint on very original car,no previous repairs evident.Anyone know what the scoop is on the diverters is,see a many cars without any, some with one side, and many with 2 as well.Maybe if the seatbelt buckle got shut in the door jam???Anyone know the factory story on them?

My '71 coupe has them on both sides. There is no model or L/R specification in my AIM, so I'd think they are supposed to be on both sides of both coupes and convertibles.

Are you the original owner of that '69? I only ask to see if perhaps a previous owner knows if they were originally on both sides. I also see that the one diverter appears to be glued on rather than riveted like mine. Perhaps the passenger side diverter just came unstuck at some time and was lost.

I checked a '69 AIM and they are shown there too. That indicates part # 3974085-6 "Strip L & RH" should be blind riveted onto the door hinge pillar using existing (pre-drilled) holes.

Not original owner, it appears to be glued on, no rivet holes. Thanks for your input.

They should be on both sides and early 69's had them glued on.
