Well, I've loved my Corvette for nearly 50 years now. And my interior is in beautiful condition because, I go into the restaurant to eat!
If you try to enter my car with a drink, you'll be walking!
NO EXCEPTIONS

My wife will bring a water container with a screw on lid that won’t drip a drop anywhere and it lays on the floor.
Im with you guys… Ive been through 19 corvettes since 1976 and Ive never had a single occasion to need a cup holder.
Oh, I eat and drink in my vehicle's all the time. Wrapper on the lap. At least one knee on the wheel. ...lol. Rarely ever make a mess b/c I know who has to clean it up.
I always have a bottle of water laying in the passenger seat while driving my Corvette. Hot Florida sun, convertible top down, black vinyl interior. It's a must have.
That's the only downside to older vehicles. There's virtually nowhere to put anything, especially in a C2/C3.
I use a few of those cup holder inserts that go between the seat and console. They're not super deep, so larger drinks need a little extra care around fast corners. On my TAs I usually place them in the center console and stuff a few rags in there to take up the slack which creates a ghetto cup holder.
I'm not worried about spilling anything, and even if I did, everything is leather or vinyl. It cleans up easy.

do you guys actually hear yourselves.....no water in your car? No drinks or you walk? Its a friggin car. It gets you from point A to point B, hopefully at a very high rate of speed with your hair on fire and hopefully with some twisty turns in there....or you happy to die in a plastic wrapped world where your friends at the funeral will say " Ya Charlie had quite the life...but he never really did anything because he was afraid to get a little dirt on his car, or his shoes, or his pants, but hey he really had fun.....I think???!!!" .
I swear I am really curious about what you guys think of me and my car.....just wow. Are you the guys that go to a car show and sit in a circle and only talk to the other corvette guys you went with? Have you ever randomly learned about someone elses car and found out it was an okay car until he hit that deer and wiped out the passenger side. Later finding holes in the hood from the antlers? How he had to get all the after market panels reworked becaasue they were stamped poorly and that lead to a complete repaint that looked incredible. Then Joked about it and told a bunch of old stories that that story brought up with a guy you just met....for 45 minutes....
Its a friggin cup holder, get one on Amazon and drink some water,....wow

No issue at all with a bottle of water, but it doesn't need a "CUP HOLDER" just screw down the cap & toss it on the passenger seat or between your legs, NO BIGGIE at all !!
It's things like this DQ cone dripping & ready to drop !! Don't want that in the basket weave, seat cracks, piping, or my rugs. There is no reason to have that sloppy cone in a mint condition, highly detailed, Corvette show car. There are tables in this photo, why not just eat the messy cone there & let that ice cream drip on the pavement for the ants ??? This is the reason some 57 year old cars look like they just pulled out of the showroom & other 57 year old cars look the 57 yrs they are or & older. I still enjoy my car & drive it every weekend, it's NOT a trailer queen, but I see no reason for that cone to be in my car, or messy, sticky, ice's, shakes, or soda's if they drip or spill
Well Rodgers. Not certain about your deer story. But I've hit a deer in just about every vehicle I owned before moving to Australia. And that includes the Vette.
But I wiped the whole front clip. Spent an entire year in the shop. They did a **** poor job. Then in another shop for a couple more months.
And Still, your not allowed food or drink in the car. Any of my cars! It's a car, it gets you from A to B. And my cars are my most valuable possessions. I do not wish to trash them.

Here - Here... I enjoy my cars, working on them and driving them, and I enjoy Coffee so I have both together...an occasional oops is taken car of with a little soap and water... If folks treasure their cars so much then stop driving them, you can't clean up paint chips that just happen or god forbid you get caught in a rain shower...I can hear your bird cages rusting from here....

YOu guys would love this show i am at today. Its put on by a big Mustang club but its all cars..2 different judging ...Judged and Peer....Judged has a " How Clean Is It?" Category ! There are people out here cleaning their grills and detailing their trunks....HAHAHA... Definitely not my cup of tea, Im in the peer review...I guess you drink some beers and write down the cars you can remember or something like that...I usually dont stay for awards anymore, but maybe today. The folks running this show are really nice. I was at a show of theirs at the end of covid.
they had a group come up from Rhode Island that were big into Air bagging their ride or Stereos...New Motor kind of money. The organizers set up categories just for these guys....Very cool of them. Now they do a show down there....I probably wont make it but I did make the poster
Dont get me wrong but Im not spending a few hours detailing my car to drive it down a dirt road to get out of my yard...When i stop to get on the main road the side pipes put up a giant dust cloud if i have to sit there...I like to wash it and clean her up, its relaxing but im not cleaning the grill with Q-Tips....The bugs decorate her before i get very far

You just described 90% of Corvette guys at car shows. I was parked in the next row behind a group of them at a show recently, and I kid you not, they were discussing their new Corvette apparel and **** talking other peoples cars. It was like a comedy skit. Every stereotype on full display.
Thankfully I can go to New England Dragway where those guys dont exist.
It’s unfortunate that a lighthearted thread would devolve into certain members needing to personally insult other members because they don’t share the same opinions on eating & drinking in their cars.
Making wild accusations and assigning bizarre stereotypes based on the choice to drink water in the car is, at a minimum, unnecessary.
It’s a reflection of a greater trend where people publically ream others for daring to make personal decisions that differ from theirs. Again, unfortunate, but it is what it is.
This thread is over before is continues further down this road.
