I picked up a nice vinyl hardtop for my 70 but it has some yellow overspray I need to remove. Why anyone would be painting a car with a removable hardtop in place is beyond me, but I got a nice deal on this top and it will look great on my car. What would you recommend to get this paint removed without damaging the material?
I would first try Goo Gone, or Goof Off on a micro fiber rag. I have removed some types of paints safely with that stuff. Not sure what type of paint you have on there, but it does work on some paints.
Yes, I found overspray like crazy on my car and was wondering why someone would spend so much to paint a ‘Vette but not take a few minutes and a few dollars of materials to prevent it. Best wishes on it and hope my suggestion works.
If not, you can hide that yellow by carefully applying a bit of black over it. (spray into the can’s cap, then apply with either touch up brushes or modelers brushes.) I don’t think anyone would ever be able to tell!
Lot's of good ideas. I definitely need to find something as the yellow is showing after mounting. I'll be back on it in a month. Car is at a remote location.
