Did you like the ride of that AC Delco or was it not doing something you wanted it to do? If it was good, then I doubt a High-Performance shock would give you much of a ride difference for just cruising. Maybe a stiffer ride. Plus, it would cost more.
So, you may want to consider staying with the AC Delco. I have had Gabriels, Koni and Bilstein’s. I liked the Koni’s the best.
I recently installed 4 new Bilstein shocks and noticed a much better ride than the old KYB shocks that were in there. Lots of bumpy roads here in Connecticut, and the new shocks seem to work fine.

Bilstein or KYB Gas-A-Just are great for cruising smooth ride, good handling, and durable. Monroe Sensa-Trac if you want something softer. Stick with gas-charged for better control.
I recently installed 4 new Billstein shocks and noticed a much better ride than the old KYB shocks that were in there. Lots of bumpy roads here in Connecticut, and the new shocks seem to work fine.
