On my 71, when I turn on the wipers, the door opens and the wiper blades are coming on too soon and hits the bottom of the door before it is fully open.
Any help would be appreciated.

On the engine side of the wiper trough, passenger side a few inches to the right of the hood pin, is an L-shaped bracket with adjustable plunger that contacts an electrical switch. I'm thinking the plunger is too close to the switch and activating the arms before it should.
There is a switch mounted on the firewall that a lever from the wiper cover presses when the cover is almost open. It is a little difficult to see in the photo, but the adjusting foot is attached to the wiper mechanism in the yellow circle. The piece attached with the two silver bolts has an adjustable piece that presses on the switch actuator. The switch is attached to the black metal piece below the rod coming through the firewall.
