C3 1968 A pillar trim install
On someone else’s recommendation, I did go to the local hardware store and get some butyl tape which fit perfectly into the retainer to provide waterproofing between the two metal pieces.
If anyone would be willing to post up pictures of how their weatherstrip and everything fits together, so I can figure out how to install these new weatherstrip pieces that would be helpful
AIM does not indicate that the upper weatherstripping has any screws, just the molding and the retainer.
Used a scalpel to trim holes for screws
Under $7 and fit like a glove into the channel between the retainer and a pillar windshield molding.
The extension part of the replacement weatherstripping is what I’m struggling to determine placement of.

On that top portion, if I had to take a guess, It looks like it would need to be glued down with ws adhesive to rest into the indented area. I've yet to remove my hard top, and will need to do as you are doing, so curious to see what others say and what you end up doing.

I LOVE the bright blue too. I think the white is the perfect color with it too!!!
I replaced the same w/s on mine and I thought it was a fairly straight forward installation. I installed mine about five months ago so I don’t remember the details very good. In order to get the right fit on that lower part, I started installing the w/s at the very top of the A pillar. That method allowed that bottom piece to fall in the necessary position. The only problem I had was getting that bottom piece to adhere to the jamb. I need to re-adhere mine. I don’t have my car right now or I would take a picture.
If you need some help, text me, and I can swing by to look at it with you.

we had to modify as none of the holes
lined up. We had to drill through the rubber and metal to get it in place.
