Our youngest son, who is now 34-years old, did the very same thing. My wife and I would take turns cruising the High School parking lot to make sure the Vette was still there. Helicopter parents, except this time we were hovering over the Vette. Here he is on the way to prom. He's married now and we still have the Vette. No wedding pics because they got married high up in the Colorado mountains in a remote location.
My son and now, daughter in law did the same thing. We restored a 70 SS Chevelle as he could not fit into the Vettes. He is 6'6" and up around 250+. We had a great time restoring the Chevelle. Jerry
