Recently bought a 1980 Corvette, and a previous owner removed the pop-up lights and replaced them with a sunken headlight kit with the polycarbonate cover. My question is whether or not it is possible to replace factory headlight assembly in its place, and how much work it may be. Bolt in replacement vs bodywork required.
It would help if you can show photos of your current set-up. How the plexiglass is held on , maybe some photos of the underside of the lights.
Anything is possible if you have enough money
Most of those kits are basically bolt in. So it makes sense that they will also bolt out.
Purchase some good used assembly's complete with actuators and vacuum relays and bolt em back in.
How big a job? Yes a fairly big pain in the butt. But doable.
Adjusting the doors is the biggest pain.
Once you find out what you need, y ou may be able to get everything from Gee's Auto Sales. (570) 376-3421. He is great for and has a number of cars to take parts from.

I converted my ‘69 to the Le Mans style fixed headlights years ago. I just unbolted the existing pop up components and the “buckets” or frames for the Le Mans conversion bolted into place utilizing existing holes. Unless someone made your fixed headlight stuff (did not use something made for the masses) you should be able to do as 4-vettes says and bolt in the factory stuff.
