External transmission cooler?
Is an external transmission cooler really needed when driving on the road?
Will it add a longer transmission life?
I’m running no A/C and am installing a Champion aluminum radiator.
The transmission is a TH350.
If so, what are good functioning and fitting external coolers for a 1977 C3?
If you can use the coolant loop in the radiator, it helps to keep the trans temp in the optimum range.
Here's a recent discussion. I don't know the best way to do it. I'd consider how you use your car, and at what temps, before deciding. At least figure out if you need the bypass.
