68E Convertible insulation location
Early ’68 Convertible – Trunk Insulation Location
Looking for info on the trunk insulation setup for an early ’68 convertible. Mine’s the early model (windshield header trim confirms it).
While prepping for paint, I removed a thick insulation piece mounted on the rear body channel, not the underside of the trunk lid.
Most sources show insulation attached to the lid, but this original piece clearly wasn’t. The replacement I ordered for the lid doesn’t fit.
Did early ’68 convertibles use a different insulation design or location? Any factory references or photos would help.
