All I can say for a senior senior that maybe just above my capabilities bc of the arthritis in my hands and fingers
Wish there was an easier way or would it be to my advantage to buy a used complete steering column and have my go to Vette guy and have him do the install...............just sayin.........

Perhaps someone has an idea on how to access that slot to push on the plastic piece to release the cylinder ? I had this in my saved folder for the future just in case & never did it myself. Good luck.
