Default Windshield wipers/cowl delete.

Cleaning up several things on this 81 I bought. It was missing the wiper cowl. Probably because they don't work and the po had the relay removed from previous trouble shooting. Got me to thinking. Like my 86 Alfa Spider, I ain't driving this girl in the rain so why do I need wipers? Thought a clean, smooth cover that covers the entire wiper compartment would look nice. Anyone have experience doing this? I looked on line and didn't see any available unless I didn't search the correct terminology. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

After 72 C3 Corvettes didn’t have the vacuum operated cover for the wiper arms. Chevrolet extended the hood and the wipers were parked in a recessed canyon. There are aftermarket plastic covers the will cover the canyon, and you can still have the wipers function.

I'm familiar with the after market covers. They fit like spit. Don't care about the wiper function. Won't be driving in the rain. Looking to completely inclose that canyon in a nicer looking way. May resort to fabricating one from fiberglass.

Gezz, I've had one of those aftermarket covers on my car for many years now. Never thought it fit poorly,
However they do have slots for the wiper arms. And I guess your an extremely lucky individual, as you never get caught in the rain.
Yes your car never came with a vacuum operated wiper bay cover. It's just covered by the hood. But we like to open the hood.
Guess you'll be fabricating.

Thanks for all that useful information. It'll really come in handy. That's what I like about the internet. So many people willing to give "on topic" advice and information. Thanks again.

My cover came from CC & it's a perfect fit. I screened over the wiper arm holes because baby doesn't do rain....
