Here is my latest find… an original, unused Eckler’s tilt front end. At the bottom of this post is my first Corvette that I built in 99-01. It had the same front end, Eckler’s ZL1 rear quarters, and a Super 80 rear bumper. I sold the ‘76 in 2003 and have been looking for it to hopefully buy it back, but I’ve moved halfway across the country and have pretty much given up ever finding it. Since I am pulling apart my numbers matching ‘73 L82/auto/AC car for paint, I’m trying to decide whether to use this front end now or wait and grab a basket case and use it to bring that back to life🤷♂️. First couple pics are of the front end in my shed. I have to store it somewhere until my new garage is built.
Very cool. DO IT NOW! Don't wait. You admit have a thing for that look. You have been searching for your old car with no luck. Some greater power has given you a second chance to have the car you always wanted again. What a perfect time for fate to drop this front end in your lap while you are taking your original apart for paint. You never know what tomorrow will bring, so DO IT NOW. And let us see you put it together.

Take pics of the hinge assembly so I can convert my68 to a tilt!
absolutely. Easy day. Below is a pic of the supplied hinge pieces. They are steel square tubing. While bonding steel to fiberglass isn’t difficult, I have been contemplating making new hinges with carbon fiber square tubing. It would only cost around $300 in supplies and have a much better bond. I just need to study up on how rigid it would be. Weight of the front end is about 80lbs, but how the weight is carried changes significantly from closed to open.
Trust me, I’d love to get that car or the one kenvette69 is selling, but they are too far from the Memphis area for me to drag home with my Jeep.
You can do it! Those cars are not big cars and as rollers don't weigh that much! I went to Richmond Virginia to get a 70 Daytona Charger clone,to Maryland to get a 70 Cuda 440 Six Barrel car and to New Jersey to get a 70 454 Corvette Roadster.
